Large American Flag Leeks (Allium porrum ampeloprasum var. “Large American Flag”), is also known commonly as Scotch Flag, or Giant Musselburh is tasty vegetable in the onion family, but with a sweeter milder flavor than onions. Leeks create a tasty pearl white bulb with huge green leaves and have a delicate onion flavor. They are a favorite ingredient in soups, stews and salads. A very hardy vegetable, it overwinters well in most regions (zone: 2-10).
