A hardy, evergreen herb, Cretan or Greek oregano can be used for culinary purposes, just like the familiar Italian variety. For the best and most concentrated flavor, use unopened flower buds. Once it flowers the flavor is less potent, but the plant serves as a beneficial insect magnet in your garden.
This plant grows in 2ft x 2ft mounds and is hardy to zone 8. Full sun, drought tolerant once established.
